Reporting bottlenecks
A healthcare nonprofit that operates multiple long-term senior care centers and assisted living facilities expended significant time and effort in order to meet the reporting mandates of its province.
The organization relied on a third-party Software as a Service (SaaS) platform to host its applications, but it lacked the ability to support a business intelligence tool. Users relied on disparate data systems, which created inefficiencies in gathering information needed for reports, including the frequent need to re-enter data that had already been entered elsewhere.
The organization knew it needed to speed up the reporting process and use data more strategically. It looked to an IT partner to help identify and implement the right tools to get there.
Streamlined systems
To modernize the client’s data analytics, Insight proposed a comprehensive business intelligence solution. We deployed Microsoft® Power BI®, an analytics platform that incorporates machine learning and simplifies data visualizations.
While implementing Power BI, we collaborated with the client’s third-party SaaS provider to integrate its capabilities into their solution. These combined motions equipped the organization with a single, intuitive data experience for all its users.
Accelerating processes
The transition to a new intelligence solution created major improvements in the client’s ability to meet provincial requirements. The centralized, integrated system made duplicate data entry unnecessary and significantly reduced the time needed to generate reports.
And, the benefits of an updated environment went beyond faster reporting. Users gained access to new patient insights, including predictive analytics that allowed them to better anticipate care needs.
In addition, teams used the time they saved to identify and pursue opportunities for additional funding from the province.
