Modernizing communication
An energy infrastructure company with locations throughout western Canada relied upon legacy collaboration solutions to keep end-users connected across all its offices, but increasing strain inspired it to explore new options.
The company’s network of on-premises Private Branch Exchange (PBX) phone systems had grown costly to maintain and upgrade. These disparate tools also led to inefficiencies during meetings and collaborative projects, particularly when teammates across multiple branches worked together.
To address these budgetary and end-user challenges, the client sought out an IT partner who could develop and implement a transformative solution.
Enacting comprehensive change
Insight implemented a combination of hardware and software that centralized the client’s communication tools and brought them into better alignment with their business needs.
First, we deployed Microsoft Teams™ across the organization. Because Teams offers calling capabilities powered by the Office 365® Phone System feature, we leveraged it to both replace the client’s PBX systems and deliver a digital collaboration platform. After deployment, the company transitioned to hosting all meetings within the application.
To modernize the client’s meeting spaces, we implemented HP® Slice and Poly® conferencing hardware. This equipped each conference room with new audio and video capabilities, facilitating smoother conversations between branches.
An improved user experience
New software and equipment provided end-users across every office location with a single, centralized collaboration solution.
Along with enhancing the communication environment, we also helped the client realize a significant reduction in telephony costs, with a 26% savings over the course of three years.
