1. Can you give us a bit of background on yourself and what you do at Insight?
I am originally from Germany but my parents are from Eritrea (East Africa) and I speak 4 different languages.
At Insight I started as a Product Sourcing Software Specialist, and have progressed to Product Operations Manager. As Insight continues to evolve, my role has adapted accordingly. I am now responsible for the European software and hardware product data on our Enterprise Resource Planning system which includes product sourcing and managing a large team of 20+ teammates within this function.
2. What tech industry trends do you predict for the next decade?
Trends are moving towards AI controlled processes which will be beneficial for all sectors, including healthcare and education. I also think as AI infiltrates the automotive industry, the proliferation of electric cards will help reduce their carbon footprint.
3. What’s the most frustrating thing about the tech industry?
Humans are becoming less interactive through the likes of social media and readily accessible and available information through the internet. We no longer need to engage or connect with humans for information or answers – the world wide web has the answer!
4. What’s your earliest tech memory?
My earliest tech memory would be my Sony Walkman. It was the first mobile device that could store all my music with the use of CDs or tapes.
5. How would your best friend describe you in 3 words?
Crazy, loyal, dedicated.
6. What one piece of tech could you not live without?
At the moment it’s my smartphone as it keeps me in touch with my family and friends across the world.
7. What’s something most people don’t know about you?

8. What do you need to be successful in the tech industry?
a) Think ahead - know what your competitors are doing and what your customers want
b) Understand your own marketing strategy
c) Have a strong online presence
