By pushing health and social care services to their limits, the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the sector’s impressive, and perhaps somewhat surprising, ability to quickly adapt to unprecedented challenge. Despite many areas of success however, the impact of the pandemic has revealed several efficiency challenges within the health and social care workforce ecosystem. Issues such as staff shortages, resource waste, and reliance on outdated technology and processes have placed a strain on staff and ultimately impacted patient care outcomes. One call for action is to utilise innovative technology.
Chaired by Dr Harpreet Sood, this webinar examined how mixed reality technology can be used to create new and innovative solutions to efficiency challenges faced by health and social care staff on a day-to-day basis with the potential to increase patient safety. This webinar also generated rich debate on how mixed reality technology can aid staff training and development across hospitals and community-based care.
