Insight Enterprises Australia Launches its Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan
Sydney, Australia, 30 May, 2022 — Insight Enterprises (NASDAQ:NSIT), an industry-recognised solutions integrator helping clients accelerate their digital journey, today announces the launch of its Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan. Launched to coincide with Reconciliation Week 2022, this inaugural Reflect report is the result of extensive partnership with Reconciliation Australia and the Insight business to commence our journey to reconciliation.
According to Mike Morgan, Insight Asia Pacific’s Senior Vice President and Managing Director: “It is such a privilege to be partnering with Reconciliation Australia to launch our inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). The process of creating our RAP has been one of reflection and collaboration and we are putting in place the appropriate foundations for reconciliation both at Insight and in the broader community.
Our RAP lays the foundations for listening, learning and acting using Reconciliation Australia’s framework. Over the next 12 months we are undertaking the steps laid out in this plan to achieve progress on our journey of reconciliation across the areas of Relationship, Respect and Opportunities.”
According to Reconciliation Australia, Insight Enterprises joins a network of more than 1,100 corporate, government, and not-for-profit organisations that have made a formal commitment to reconciliation through the RAP program. Since 2006, RAPs have provided a framework for organisations to leverage their structures and diverse spheres of influence to support the national reconciliation movement. The program’s potential for impact is greater than ever, with over 2.3 million people now working or studying in an organisation with a RAP. The four RAP types — Reflect, Innovate, Stretch and Elevate — allow RAP partners to continuously develop and strengthen reconciliation commitments in new ways. This Reflect RAP lays the foundations, priming the workplace for future RAPs and reconciliation initiatives.
It is important to us at Insight Australia that all teammates have an understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rich cultures and histories and that we all walk the journey together to a more reconciled Australia. In developing this plan we are focused on building awareness and understanding within our workforce via education and celebration. In addition, we consider this an opportunity to identify and commence relationships within the communities in which we operate. An example of this is our partnership with the Indigenous Literacy Foundation which operates in 400 remote communities across Australia. Dedicated to literacy, reading and education to help the preservation of indigenous languages and their cultures and learning.
Katherine Clayton, Insight’s Organisation Development Business Partner says; “We know that literacy is the pathway to education and beyond. Being able to support indigenous children in these communities is something that is exciting for Insight teammates. This partnership allows Insight to be involved in a meaningful way.”
Says Mike Morgan: “This is the first step in a rich and sustainable partnership with Reconciliation Australia and we are grateful for their support and guidance as we undertake this important journey.”
